A wet and rainy morning greeted the Wolfpack harriers at this year's Zippy 5k in San Francisco.  A traditionally fast race on the PA circuit found some times suffering just a bit due to the weather conditions.  But your Wolves still fought hard and finished with respectable times, with most of them touring the course for the first time.

Nick Clinton Finishing Strong

Leading the charge up front was Nick Clinton with a time of 16:25 placing 43rd.   Our newest member, JP Thyken would soon follow (68th; 17:22) with Rigo Ramirez hot on his heels (72nd; 17:26).  The Arcelona (Adrian & Nick) brothers stopped the clock and our team scoring with their 18:06 and 18:16 respective finishes.  Our men's combined time was good enough for a 7th place team finish out of the 11 complete teams.

Anne Ricketts blazing thru the field

One the ladies side, Anne Ricketts  rallied to the front of our pack at mile 2 and would be our first female across the line finishing 27th with a time of 19:36. Valerie Weilert continued to show how consistent training pays off with her 19:44 clocking.  Susan Armenta continues to be a great addition and return to the club with her solid performance (40th; 20:11).  Lisa Renteria (20:49) and Aisha Kamala (21:06) would round out the scoring for the Lady Wolves as they took 5th in team scoring out of the 7 complete teams on this day.  Newcomer Alicia Wiley gave us a good sign of things to come, as did Michelle Moran and Maria Sosa

A great job by all the members of Wolfpack!!!  - Complete Results -

A Great Race indeed!!   With six Wolfpack members at this year's Great Race, an orange jersey could always be seen near the front.   Valerie Weilert got her second road race win this year and ran a time of 25:41 in the 4-mile course from Saratoga to Los Gatos.  Our top male performer was Rigo Ramirez who unofficially finished in the top 10.   Our top Master's runner was Tom Dorst, who finished 31st overall and 4th in his age group with a time of 26:12.   There was even a sighting of Coach Campbell just before the finish line!  - Complete Results -

Weilert Clocks a Season Best!

Weilert rolling!

A beautiful day in the city of San Francisco.  Athletes from around the Bay ventured up to the annual Johnny Mathis Invitational hosted by SFSU.  We had two of our lady Wolves represent on the oval in the 5000 meters.  Valerie Weilert rocked a solid 19:13 for the 12.5 lapper, which was good enough for 7th place overall.  Coming back from a two-week setback from illness, Heidi Johnson still managed to put up a 21:25 clocking.  Great job to both our ladies!
