Wolfpack Enjoys Bay to Breakers and Ramirez Wins Local 5k

2011 Bay to Breakers Lady Centipede
(L-R: Matt, Lisa, Dinora, Roxanne, Aisha, Marrield, Valerie, Megan, Claire, Susan, Dan)

The Bay to Breakers 12k is one of the world’s largest and oldest footraces around and many of your Wolfpack runners celebrated the 100th running of the event.  Nine women were tied together to form our almost complete centipede (13 are needed).  Sporting tops from our sponsor, Shut Up & Sweat (www.shutupandsweat.com), our mini-pede weaved thru the streets of SF along with our trusty blockers (Matt & Dan).   The group covered the 7.46mile distance in just under 59min (58:57).

Nick Clinton was the lone Wolfpack member running as an individual, but his solo effort did not stop him from zipping through the field in a blazing 5:30 pace.  Nick stopped the clock with a time of 41:09, which was good enough to place 50th in the men's division.  His time now stands as our club's 3rd best 12k time.  He even got some television coverage right before the start!

Back in San Jose, another Wolf was representing us well with a nice win at the Save Our Sports 5k.  Rigo Ramirez got the overall win with a time of 17:35 at the 3rd annual event that helps raise funds for sports in the East Side Union District.

Great job to all our runners.  Next up is the PA scoring Marin 10k on Memorial Day.
